Position: Bartender

The Green Growler is looking for a Bartender/Server to work part-time, 10-20 hours per week. Responsibilities include tending bar, selling beer to go, light food preparation, table running, clean up and cashier work. A solid knowledge of craft beer and a proactive approach to learn more is required for the right candidate.

PLEASE NOTE: This position is NOT a seasonal job, we are looking for someone who is able to start as a part-time worker with further flexibility to take on other shifts.

Qualifications:
 

  • MINIMUM 5 YEARS EXPERIENCE as bartender or in food-service is required.

  • Must be able to work weekends and have flexibility for weekday/night shifts

  • Must be able to multi-task (ex: serve customers while prepping food items) 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of liquor laws

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 

  • Set up bar; maintain stock of all beer, wine, paper products, glassware and ice

  • Performs general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards; keeps work area clean and organized.

  • Prepare and store all food and other perishables properly to ensure product quality

  • Greet guests in a courteous, friendly manner

  • Adhere to state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests

  • Detect and act upon guest inebriation as trained

  • Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in the bar area

  • Wash and sterilize glassware and countertops

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Salary: Hourly wage starts at $14/hour and is commensurate with experience, plus tips.

Work Authorization: United States (Required)

Work Location: Croton-on-Hudson, NY


Must be able to work weekends but work days could include any days Tuesday-Sunday as we are open 6 days a week.
